In recent weeks, the La Mesa Police Department and the La Mesa Fire Department have received numerous calls of bee and bee hive sightings. The City recommends that residents call a local bee keeper or exterminator to take care of a bee problem on private property. If there is a bee problem on City property, please call the Public Works Department at 619.667.1450. The La Mesa Police Department and La Mesa Fire Department will only respond to medical emergencies. There is additional information about bees available from the County of San Diego.
