If you are an architect, engineer, designer or contractor who performs work within the State of California, please be advised that new State building codes are in effect as of January 1, 2008. 

The new 2007 California Building Code (CBC) is based on the 2006 International Building Code (IBC) and is significantly different from the Uniform Building Code (UBC).  All new plan review applications submitted after December 31, 2007 are required to comply with the new codes.
